Operation Agri (OA) supports rural and urban development projects in three continents, attacking basic causes of poverty among some of the most disadvantaged people in the world.  The projects help people to address their own problems, rectifying injustice, improving their environment, establishing their role in the community and transforming their lives physically, mentally and spiritually.

Emphasis is placed on the development work fulfilling two criteria: – it should be ‘owned’ by the local people, and where possible it should be sustainable.

With its aim of ‘showing Christian love in action’, OA works with overseas partner organisations led by locally based Christians.

Operation Agri is a charity registered in England and Wales, CIO no. 1189098. Much of the work is done by the trustees, who give their time voluntarily, assisted by part-time staff and other advisors with development, overseas or other relevant experience.

Volunteers help promote OA’s work in churches, on social media and at events. If you believe you have a God-given calling to devote time to OA’s ministry, please contact us giving some brief details of yourself.

Operation Agri provides information to supporting churches and individuals through its quarterly magazine Outreach Abroad. You can read the current and previous issues of the magazine on this website.  Printed copies of the magazine can also be mailed free of charge, to you or your church.

Funds come from individual supporters and local churches, mainly in the UK. Much of this support, but not all, is from Baptists. Many churches have special events for OA, or donate from their church budget.

• Donations with Gift Aid allow OA to claim back tax paid on the amount: a Gift Aid form can be downloaded. Also gifts via this website may be Gift Aided at checkout.
• Support from regular donors is very valuable: a bank Standing Order Form can be downloaded.
• Churches often support OA at Harvest Festivals. Each year OA launches its Annual Appeal with a video and pack of resources for churches to use.
• A welcome source of income is legacies and bequests from friends who include OA as a beneficiary in their wills. A suitable form of wording for inclusion in a will is available on request.
• When completing your self-assessment tax return, you can ask that some or all of any tax refund be sent direct to OA – quote reference GAK78YG.

If you buy one of our Presents with a Purpose, or give for a specific project, then it all goes (including any Gift Aid) to that project. Should the project or item be fully funded, OA will allocate the money to a similar project.

When you give to OA more generally, or via our Annual Appeal, it is used where most needed. Most goes overseas to support our partners as they help the poorest people. A small proportion goes on things like producing our magazine, our appeal video, administering your gift, and even on the cost of hosting this website.

Small is beautiful:  it’s one of the advantages of being a small charity. We have no full-time staff. Apart from paying for part-time administrative staff, plus professional assistance, much of the work is done by committed volunteers.
