Visit to the Imarika Project in Tanzania

By 19 January 2023News

The Imarika project is growing, according to Andy and Angela Sharpe who
recently visited the project in central Tanzania. They are from Emmanuel
International (EI), joint sponsors with Operation Agri of the Imarika project.    They visited a number of groups in several villages.  All groups were flourishing with VICOBA (village community banking schemes), training in conservation agriculture, fuel efficient stove making, afforestation, beekeeping and poultry keeping.  Two new groups, at Migoli and Izazi, were seriously oversubscribed when they started, so both those villages have two groups each, of around 50 members in each group.  This is because the reputation of Imarika in the region is very good, so everyone wants to join – a great recommendation. For further information on Imarika, visit the Tanzania project page and page 16 of Outreach Abroad.
